Hello all you WACS fans! You may have noticed that we have not posted anything in a while that's because we have been busy with this awesome special newscast called our " New Years Eve Special ". It is the only episode on Channel 19 right now, this is because we are taking to time to assess our performance and make new additions to our programming. A new episode is scheduled to air next Friday 1/16 so make sure you tune in. Please comment back on how you liked the New Years eve special!! And as always thank you for choosing WACS!

Hello Alden High School!

We need you to be our eyes and ears. If you know of a story that we should add to our newscast, let us see it. "A Reports" is an initiative that allows people from around AHS to contribute pictures and video of breaking news stories from our school.

We will accept high school related newsstories from our students. If you would like to try your hand at Citizen Journalism, send us your completed story that includes an video introduction, news video footage of story, and audio (either voiceover narration or interview).

You can contact us at WACSNetwork@gmail.com to let us know you have a story, or simply give your tape or computer file to Ms. Weisbeck, Ms. Giambra, or Matt Masci.

If we use your video file on the air you will be credited with the story with your picture, named a WACS 19 "A Reporter" and receive a WACS 19 Beverage Thermos.:)

Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving is next week! Thanksgiving Day in America is a time to offer thanks, of family gatherings and holiday meals. A time of turkeys, stuffing, and pumpkin pie. A time for Indian corn, holiday parades and giant balloons.:)

Our Wacs Staff is wondering what our viewers thoughts are about Thanksgiving.

If you feel like it, comment and tell us what you are thankful for this time of year.
Also feel free to tell us what Thanksgiving Traditions exist in your family from the dinner menu to what you usually do Thanksgiving after dinner.:) And don't forget to tell us about dessert. What are your favorite Thanksgiving pies? Yumm.

Obviously our network has come out stronger than ever this year! This is of course due to our amazing producers and writing and tech integration this year! Also, the network has Alden High School's marketing class to thank about a billion times. Marketing students are doing more than a fantastic job on all levels of advertising for WACS! Also, we of course want to thank all our viewers for tuning into WACS. If you as a viewer have a comment for the network make sure you let us now how we can better please you. Hey WACS Fans! With the ability to run not only our own newscast, but our own network on channel 19, we have endless possibilities on what we can air. Many ideas have been run through our writers for different show ideas. As you know, our headline show now is WACS News. Also, we've launched Sports Playbook. Also, be looking for a format change to Playbook as we base the new series with a much demanded Top 10 Plays and a Sports Center feel. Be looking for that real soon as the basketball season approaches! But, back to business, what do you want to watch on WACS? Do you have any ideas on shows to create for WACS? Think of your favorite tv show and think about how we can modify it for WACS. Also make sure to add our myspace page! And as always thank you for watching WACS!

Hey WACS Fans! Thanks for all the feedback on our new network! The commentary is much appreciated and we do take each one into consideration believe it or not! Please keep in mind WACS is always improving. Our newest accomplishment was of course WACS Sports Playbook. As we can see it was a rough edit in the end due to the technology used. However, I want to assure our viewers that in the winter we do plan on filming basketball and maybe wrestling. The process is still in the works, but so far your comments tell us you're backing our idea so much appreciation goes to you! Now on to our new content! WACS is very excited to introduce our trial weather segment of morning announcements. Make sure you tune in this Friday, November 6th to our vdeo announcements online at the wacs webpage! Also, WACS is now on MySpace! Add us! And as always thank you for watching WACS!

WACS Playbook

Hey there sports fans! Our first edition of WACS Playbook is now on the air! After much struggle with technology it is finally up. The first edition was of course the Alden vs Fredonia playoff game. Those that aren't caught up with what Playbook is, it is WACS' own version of a sportscast or what you may view as Sports Center. The episodes will air much longer than the first episode and we do plan on covering winter sports starting with basketball. So, what do you think about the concept of WACS Playbook? Make sure to check out Playbook on Time Warner Channel 19 after WACS News which airs weekdays at 1p,3p,5p,7p,9p and weekends 11a,1p,3p,5p,7p,9p. It is also on the web at the WACS Homepage. Morning News

Recently, as you've probably heard, the WACS News team is doing morning announcements everyday via our webpage at aldenschools.org/wacs. The futuristic outlook is we, like numerous other schools, would like to phase out our PA announcements and spice it up a bit by airing our morning announcements in every advisement on projectors. Also, we plan to get a warmer view on taking the typical morning announcements and twisting them into a morning show with commentary, laughs, personal views, ect. If you got the opportunity to view our Halloween Morning News and our Election Day Morning News you can already see the transformation beginning. But, out of pure curiosity, do you watch the announcements? Would you like to see this transformation? Any other commentary on the subject is always appreciated as well!
